We were an office with a dream… of food!

We were trying to decide how we could incorporate our love of eating into a charitable activity, and from that the idea of a chili cook-off was born. In 2017 our social committee devised a plan to have a chili cook-off and donate the proceeds to the United Way of Milton. Our small office rallied the troops, submitted our chili’s and from that, a winner was picked and $75 was raised by staff. The company matched our efforts, so the total donation for this event in 2017 to the United Way of Milton was $150.00.

Well, we had to do better in our second year. We had more staff, more chili and invited special guests to join us as well.  Kate Holmes and Eman Abader from the United Way of Halton & Hamilton, as well as Halton Regional Councillor Mike Cluett, participated as celebrity judges.

Our winners for this year were as follows: in first place – Nuno Gama, in second place – Bev Amiro, and in third place – Katherine O’Hearn.

But the real winner of this event was the United Way of Halton & Hamilton. Our staff did an amazing job and raised a total of $250! To make this event even better, Crozier & Associates once again matched what was raised by our staff, so the total donation for this event was $500!
